Decumbent herb with stems up to 2 m. long. Growing in raised areas, locally abundant. hypanthium dark red-brown, with white bristles; petals mauve, with darker veins; filaments pink, anthers yellow and appendages mauve in the lower 2/3, and red-purple in the upper foliate portion; style pale pink, the stigma green.

Locally abundant. Fertile branches somewhat decumbent, up to 1 m long. Hypanthium ornamented with brown pads bearing white bristles. Corolla mauve, with darker venation. Fertile stamens 5, the filaments and connective white tinged mauve, the anthers pink-mauve. Staminodes 10, the filaments shading from white tinged pink-mauve, shading to bright yellow in the upper 2/3. Style pink-mauve, with a small yellow-green capitate stigma,
